Over?

 

Interesting day today.

I spent the night at Phil's following a few jars at the Wynford in Reading (his local). All good fun.

Sunday had been spent with the family. Andy and Karin were over from Germany, sadly their friend had died of his brain tumour a month or so before. Another Aunt was over together with a cousin and her not so little baby.

I had been thinking of staying the night and had made a last minute decision to change my bag. In a bit of a rush I managed to remember to repack nearly everything I needed!

When I woke up on the sofa, feeling a little bit tender, it occurred to me that my contact lenses were still in the pocket of the 'other bag'!

Not good. The last time I'd done this was back in the nineties following an unexpected sleep over. The result a horrific headache and having to ask for help at the railway station!

I wasn't going to let this beat me though. In a very blurry world we headed to a cafe for breakfast. I once again have a small appreciation for those with eyesight problems. I could still read menu's and things very close up. But the people around me were just an anonymous blur.

For the rest of my morning until getting home later I was in a little bubble of ignorance. I have no idea if anyone I knew passed me today, hopefully they weren't offended when I blanked them amongst the distorted figures I dodged my way through.

A very strange experience that makes me think I should save up for laser surgery!

In other news: Osama Bin Laden was killed this morning.
