Bridge

1640hrs: As dusk vanishes Denmark in front of my eyes I'm on an ICE zipping through the countryside with patches of snow standing out here and there.

Rather worryingly the stations we are calling at seem to be taking us further away from the famous Østbroen Bridge which I was hoping to see.

This is beginning to give me the feeling I normally reserve for Cross Country trains. That pit of the stomach frustration when you find the service from Oxford to Manchester insists on going via Cheltenham!

1707hrs: I've been doing some translating and it does seem there is a Ferry journey involved! I nearly wet myself with excitement! Although the thought of having to take all my belongings and haul them around again is a bit annoying! Also I do have a habit of getting sea sick on rowing boats, so I hope it's not rough!

1800hrs: Well that was unexpected! The train rolled straight on to the ferry!

Then within minutes we were told to get off, they locked the train and then set sail! Most of the people around me didn't expect it either! I feel like my inner child has been let loose but I'm having to keep it in so as to not cause a scene!

It is so calm!

1803hrs: Spoke to soon. We seem to have found a swell!

1830hrs: And then we were in Germany! Thankfully the swell didnt build up to much, so my stomach contents are intact! On to Hamburg!
