May Humph rest in peace!

For many years now, I have wanted to go and see one of Britains foremost jazz musicians, and funniest men.

Just like forgetting to get my Grandmother to give me her wonderful fruit cake recipe before she passed on, the fact I never got around to seeing him live is another one to consign to the "What would have been if..." category.

Humphrey Lyttelton was one of the funniest and possibly the crudest man on radio. Yet somehow the nation managed to let him say jokes that if any other person were to make, would have Mary Whitehouse spinning in her grave!

Was it his dead pan delivery, or the fact he sounded so innocent!

I don't know, but I do know that radio wont be the same without him. I wonder what will happen to "I'm sorry I haven't a clue"?
