Happy St Georges Day

So here we are again, a Saint George's day.

Things seem to be coming around now.  If I wasn't at home feeling rubbish, I should have been out at a project building an outdoor theatre in rural Oxfordshire as part of the BBC's Made in England series.

As I drove home, I passed three or four other cars with the George Cross flying and they weren't all white vans!  Gordon Brown has issued an edict saying that all government buildings should fly the george cross on their flag pole (so long as they have two!) which is a start - personally i think they should be up all year round.  The French do it so well, we should learn a bit from them.

Hopefully it will take only a few more years before we start to celebrate it more like the Irish and Scottish.

The next thing to deal with is St George himself... there has to be a better and more appropriate patron saint!  Do they even have to be religious figure.  Lets use Shakespeare's birthday... which is very handily today as well!!!
