Post scrum come down!

 

Well the last month has been a terrible one for my nerves!

The rugby was a complete roller coaster ride, but I think a good one. From the lows of a 36-nil white wash defeat to South Africa to then slowly but surely fighting our way past the mighty Australia and then local favourites France to the final - once again meeting an unstoppable South Africa.

It was interesting to watch the response people made to the battle the England team made for us. If it had been football, every straight man would have been flying the St George cross from a car window. Not with Rugby, however. It might have been the fact that noone really expected us to do well. Four years of mediocre rugby does that to a nation. But I do wonder if the people that run the newsagents and woolies stores across the country missed out on a trick!

Just think of the money they could have made, once the media machine had started lifting Johny Wilkinson up to saint status!

Scratch that. Why didn't I think to start selling loads of England merchandise! I could have been a multi-millionaire! Well maybe if we had won!
