Mid Summers Day

Don has just read the Philip Pullman novels "His Dark Materials" and wanted to find one of the locations that features towards the end.

So off we pottered, to the Botanic Gardens in Oxford, to find the bench where Lyra and Will (I think) say they will meet every year. It is supposed to happen at noon on mid summers day.

We arrived with ten minutes to spare, but due to a slight confusion, we found the wrong bench! Hey ho. At least we tried.

In a strange coincidense we passed the film crew making the film of the books at the Radcliffe Camera. It will be really interesting to see the movie when it comes out.
