2007 - Blink and you'll miss it.

It comes to something when the New Year entry is made a good way in to February.

January passed with out to much stress, with the exception of the usual Inland Revenue hurdles. I squeezed in a short trip to Paris to see my mate Steph. Once again I am half inspired to knuckle down and learn a second language properly. The question is which one.

French is a good starter. I understand a little, can order in shops, but get stuck with anything more complicated than that.
German is better. I can have the most basic of conversations, and understand much more.
Spanish... I never really got off the ground with it.

I think French could be the most use for the time being, I have a couple of friends who I'm meeting on a regular basis. It would be nice to chat to them and their friends in their language for once. It seems in Paris you can get on to some fairly cheap "Learn French for foreigners" type classes.

German will always have a draw, as the family out there are good for practise. Not that that has had much effect over the last thirty years!

Anyway we shall see. I just need to get my arse in gear. The story of my life.
