Around midnight the hot weather finally went bang with an amazing thunderstorm that must have kept going for about an hour.

I couldn't sleep through it, so decided to take some photos. It's amazing how difficult it is to capture a flash of lightening. I left the camera shutter open for 15seconds at a time and even then the lightening typically hit while I was just pushing the button etc.

Any way, 100 photos later and a few look quite interesting... and one had some proper forked lightening! As seen above!
