Roses are red...

For once Valentines Day wasn't too bad. It always runs the risk of being aweful.

The whole weekend was great, but Valentines night is a knife edge event. In principle I hate the concept... showing your love for someone should be something that is done constantly through a relationship. It has been over Americanised and turned in to a huge commercial exercise (obviously I'm not telling you anything new here!)

Its all very well hating Valentines Day but if the person you are wooing really likes it, then you have to meet in the middle somewhere!

I escaped most of that... going for the simple card and box of chocolates approach. This seemed to work, as I picked a nice place to give him the card (at the deer enclosure in Greenwich Park).

That evening we had Chinese and watched Belleville Rendevue - a fab french cartoon... very funny, and quite grotesque. Much better than anything Disney could produce, it was good to see that some BBC money went in to the picture. However we also watched Maybe Baby, another movie made by the BBC (fully paid up). This time is was crap. So much so, I didn't make it to the end of the film. I haven't heard such a rubbish script in ages... it was sad to see some very good British actors, totally wasting their time.

Some you win, some you lose!

As for the romanse, not a bad one, thank you.
