Did a bit of showbiz this weekend. Did a bit of mundane and did a bit of stress as well.
Showbiz news first: The other-half took me to see "We Will Rock You" on Saturday evening. This is a musical created by Ben Elton and Queen.
I wasn't totally sure what to expect, as it had originally been panned by critics. Having now seen it, I think their may have been a rewrite of the script. Originally it had been accused of being cheesy beyond belief and taking itself far too seriously.
Its still very cheesy, but now at least seems to admit that it is. I was more impressed with the set. A great use of video walls that can move around and Tottenham Court Road station comes out of the ground.
The shows finale was pretty impressive as well. The Musical Director was having his last show, so Brian May appeared on stage at the end and we then had to go through another couple of encores and a speech.
A good fun night, one my Dad would love!!!
On the more mundane issues... I painted a bedroom, battled around Ikea to buy shelves, got lost driving around Croydon and then got drenched walking from my old place to the new flat.
Ironically the most fun was had putting up the shelves afterwards!
It must have been the stress!
